Randy Plumlee, who manages the Energy Code Program for the South-central Partnership for Energy Efficiency as a Resource (SPEER), will be the featured speaker at the South Texas Builders Show. Born and raised in North Texas, Randy brings over 27 years of experience in energy efficiency and sustainable building practices to the table. He holds an AAS degree in Residential Building Performance, along with certifications in the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) and the RESNET Home Energy Rating System (HERS). His early career involved roles such as a Comfort Specialist where he conducted energy audits, energy modeling, and field inspections for one of North Texas’ largest third-party energy raters. Over the years, Randy further enhanced his expertise by gaining additional certifications in programs that exceed standard code requirements.

For seven years, Randy served as the Regional Field Manager in Dallas-Fort Worth, where he was responsible for hiring, training, and mentoring field team members. His role emphasized the importance of understanding the IECC and applying it effectively during inspections. Randy’s extensive background and his deep passion for energy-efficient construction make him an ideal speaker for the South Texas Builders Show.
